Here is my favorite Jewelry store in the city. Ginette NY makes thin and refined jewelry. If you are looking for a simple golden chain with something special, this is going to be your place. This French jewelry designer is very talented and her new spring collection is gorgeous...
She also creates jewelry for kids and it is simply to die for...
Yesterday night I watched the Oscars (who in the US didn't...) It was the best Oscar Ceremony I have ever watched (or maybe that's what I am thinking because last year was pretty dreadful...I am not a big fan of Anne Hathaway...)
The most stunning celebrity of the night: Gwyneth Paltrow. Tom Ford designed her dress and it was the definition of simplicity and beauty....
I finally decided to buy Lana Del Rey's album on itunes and I loooooooove it. She might have signed a contract before putting her songs on Youtube, she might be criticized for a million other things.... I really like what she does, and she looks gorgeous!!!!

My Fav Songs from the Album: Off to the Races & This is what makes us Girls.
I have been looking for a good mascara that was easy to apply and which would make my eyes POP. I read on a couple of blogs that the best was a product from Benefit. I thought that this mascara was going to be over rated because everybody was being way too positive about it. Truth is: They're Real by Benefit is the Best Mascara I have ever used. The first day I used it someone told me that my eyes were really popping out!
What magazines do you usually read? I usually read the Time Magazine, The Bloomberg News Magazine (wish that would make me look smart but it's just because the illustrations are way more fun than the economist :-) , Vogue, Elle, and some crappy not worth reading magazines when I am having a mani/pedi done. And as of now, someone made me discover the BEST magazine ever: MONOCLE.
This magazine will give you a 'global briefing on international affairs, culture and design'. (their words, not mine). It s pretty much a summary of what's going on in the world, and what's cool. (my words).
My hair are long, highlighted, broken. If not brushed for a few hours, I have dreads all over my head which, don't get me wrong, could be pretty awesome if I was living in Australia, owned a surf shop and had a freaking amazing tanned body. Not happening...I live in NY, work too much, eat too much, spend too much time watching reality tv instead of working out! So, here is what I was thinking: A new hair cut. Maybe not for now, maybe for the next Fall season?! Definitely want you to tell me what you think about it. Like it?! I think Michelle Williams looks ridiculously cute!
Arghhhhhhhh.... Valentine's Day is in 2 days. Do you at least have a card?
I actually really like the fact that in the US you buy cards for family and friends...I feel that I have never done that when I was back home. So, this year I went all out and I bought a few cards for my Dad, Sister, a Few Girlfriends, and the boyfriend. I wrote them today (will probably send them tomorrow), they might arrive in a few months on the other side of the ocean....hopefully by next Christmas (just kidding, they might be a little late...but who cares).
I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day BUT it doesn't mean that I don't want anything (I would use any occasion to try to get spoiled...) Though the Boyfriend decided that I did not deserve any gifts before my bday (next December)...life is so hard (I should admit that he over-spoiled me for Xmas)!
BUT for those of you who have no inspiration and need to pick a gift: Just leave the WhatCharlyWants page open on your +1's computer).
I wish I was the subtle, nice girl who would never ask for anything...I am not. I leave magazines open with a 'I WANT', 'I REALLY LIKE', 'I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT' sharpie comments! or I just rip the pages and stick them somewhere like on the fridge or on the mirror in the bathroom.... (I would hate dating myself ;-)
One of my friend came in to work with the coolest looking hair EVER. She made a bow tie with her own hair. I should probably add that she is the cutest hipster looking girl....so she can totally pull it off.
I just tried it in font of my mirror... and let's say that my hair did not cooperate as I wish they would (so much easier to blame it on my hair instead of my poor skills...) But I won't give up!
As soon as I start mastering this bow art, I will post a pic (might take a little time ;-)
Because life is tough, we need to surround ourselves with cuteness. Here below is the description of what I want to show you. I want to buy a few of them to put in my bathroom, it will be perfect to make me smile in the morning!
"Mixed media of my original artwork in real acrylic hand painting and ink print. It's on an authentic antique paper from around 1920s of the famous Parisien magazine “La Petit Illustration” , a weekly French literary journal that published plays, novels and short stories..Every creation is unique, you will receive the image as you see in the picture. Every artwork is handsigned and dated." From the Website Etsy http://www.etsy.com/
Every week I receive the Time Magazine in my mailbox and I actually read it most of the time (that is, when I don't forget to open my mailbox for 3 weeks...) The latest one I read had a interesting review on a book written by John Greene (spoiler alert: it's about cancer). The review was so great that I felt like I couldn't wait to buy this book. Fortunately for me, one of my coworker and myself had to go to the bookstore to buy a gift for the nicest girl at the office who just invited us to her bday. It was the perfect opportunity for me to buy THE book, so once we were done choosing her gift, I asked one of the person working in the store where I could find 'The Fault in our Stars' by John Greene (thinking the person would direct me to a very 'smart' section) and of course the guy tells me 'Teen Section'! The guy with who I work obviously looked at me with a 'really?!' type of look that made me feel a little ashamed. I mean, don't get me wrong, I buy the lamest teenage books you could think of, all the time, but the ONE time I decide to buy something else based on what Time Magazine tells me and it turns out to be in the same section....That is highly uncool! (especially when they are witnesses thinking that I probably made up the fact that it was in Time Magazine....)
BUT, you know what? I really like the book. Most of us have lost or are about to lose someone to cancer. it sucks. I like this book because it makes you see cancer patients with a new eye. It is a cute/heart braking/ funny love story of teenagers who are constantly in between life and death. Up until now, I've cried twice but have laughed numerous times.
