V for .... You Need a Card

Arghhhhhhhh.... Valentine's Day is in 2 days. Do you at least have a card?
I actually really like the fact that in the US you buy cards for family and friends...I feel that I have never done that when I was back home. So, this year I went all out and I bought a few cards for my Dad, Sister, a Few Girlfriends, and the boyfriend. I wrote them today (will probably send them tomorrow), they might arrive in a few months on the other side of the ocean....hopefully by next Christmas (just kidding, they might be a little late...but who cares).

Charly loves cards....

V for .....

I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day BUT it doesn't mean that I don't want anything (I would use any occasion to try to get spoiled...) Though the Boyfriend decided that I did not deserve any gifts before my bday (next December)...life is so hard (I should admit that he over-spoiled me for Xmas)!
BUT for those of you who have no inspiration and need to pick a gift: Just leave the WhatCharlyWants page open on your +1's computer).
I wish I was the subtle, nice girl who would never ask for anything...I am not. I leave magazines open with a 'I WANT', 'I REALLY LIKE', 'I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT' sharpie comments! or I just rip the pages and stick them somewhere like on the fridge or on the mirror in the bathroom.... (I would hate dating myself ;-)

Want the Keys to my Heart?
Yves Saint Laurent. Charm Key Ring in Gold Toned Metal. $145

I will give you gifts ideas every day until V Day.

New Hair Obsession

One of my friend came in to work with the coolest looking hair EVER. She made a bow tie with her own hair. I should probably add that she is the cutest hipster looking girl....so she can totally pull it off.
I just tried it in font of my mirror... and let's say that my hair did not cooperate as I wish they would (so much easier to blame it on my hair instead of my poor skills...) But I won't give up!

As soon as I start mastering this bow art, I will post a pic (might take a little time ;-)

The Fault In Our Stars

Every week I receive the Time Magazine in my mailbox and I actually read it most of the time (that is, when I don't forget to open my mailbox for 3 weeks...) The latest one I read had a interesting review on a book written by John Greene (spoiler alert: it's about cancer). The review was so great that I felt like I couldn't wait to buy this book. Fortunately for me, one of my coworker and myself had to go to the bookstore to buy a gift for the nicest girl at the office who just invited us to her bday. It was the perfect opportunity for me to buy THE book, so once we were done choosing her gift, I asked one of the person working in the store where I could find 'The Fault in our Stars' by John Greene (thinking the person would direct me to a very 'smart' section) and of course the guy tells me 'Teen Section'! The guy with who I work obviously looked at me with a 'really?!' type of look that made me feel a little ashamed. I mean, don't get me wrong, I buy the lamest teenage books you could think of, all the time, but the ONE time I decide to buy something else based on what Time Magazine tells me and it turns out to be in the same section....That is highly uncool! (especially when they are witnesses thinking that I probably made up the fact that it was in Time Magazine....)

BUT, you know what? I really like the book. Most of us have lost or are about to lose someone to cancer. it sucks. I like this book because it makes you see cancer patients with a new eye. It is a cute/heart braking/ funny love story of teenagers who are constantly in between life and death. Up until now, I've cried twice but have laughed numerous times.
