Smallable is Adorable

Babies are springing up like daisies! This morning I was browsing on facebook when I realized that more and more of my friends and cousins had their newborns on their profile pictures.... It meant two things:
1. I am getting older and it is simply normal to have more friends getting married and having kids (right?!)
2. I am going to have to buy so many gifts for those babies... (I am actually already late for a few of them...)
3. Here is my plan  http://en.smallable.com/
This website is my "go to" in terms of baby gifts for several reasons. It is easy to buy gifts online because you can send them anywhere in the world! (where when you buy a gift in a store and you have to send it to someone who lives on the other side of the planet or just one state away, sending that gift by UPS or Fed Ex can end up costing more than the gift itself..) Also, they carry so many different brands that you really have a great choice and everything looks amazing.
I have to admit that it is pretty expensive, so future moms, do not plan on buying everything here, but you can use 'Smallable' look books and decoration styles for inspiration.

This is what you can find under Looks for Babies...adorable, isn't it?!

Anne Clair Petit. Renne Multicolore. $106

Baby Barolo. Nid d'Ange en Duvet d'Oie. $194

Mimilou. Lampion Japonais Pois et Mouton Rose. $35

Lilly Marthe Ebener. Chaussons. $34

Ketika. Parure Etoile. $193

JellyCat. Petit Lapin. $23
I have this one (please don't ask..) and it is crazy soft

Playsman. Roadster. $403

Oeuf NYC. Robe Ivy. $124

Last tip, they created the new website http://www.so-small.com/index.php?show_only=1 with all of the special offers from smallable! Enjoy ;-)

Petit H by Hermes

The grand-grand daughter of Mr Hermes, Pascale Mussard, created Petit H! In Petit H they are using pieces of Hermes materials that were considered to be misfit to create new objects. In other words, Hermes recycles and recreates! (or simply makes even more money with the products that were supposed to go to waste ;-) ...but I have to admit that I actually love the concept. The objects vary from necklaces, to cup sleeves, toys for kids, cupboards, bags, cards ...
New Yorkers, you have two more weeks to go see the collection on display at the Hermes boutique on Madison Ave ( and 62nd St). The collection will then move on to Paris at the store on Rue de Sevres for a limited time as well.
If you can make it, I would advise you to go take a look because it is full of creativity and nice ideas but with the perfect Hermes finish....

Calfskin Leather Skin Sleeve. $190 each
This was probably my favorite item from this petit H collection!

The Hunger Games

I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday because I needed something new to read. I had just finished reading The Magicians by Lev Grossman and though it was a pretty good book, but I needed to find something more captivating that I was not going to be able to put down.
I was looking at the table where all the New York Times bestsellers were when a woman, about 28 years old, grabbed two books as if her life depended on it. I started checking the covers out when a second woman who was probably about the same age took one of those books too. I had to know what was so great about this trilogy written by Suzanne Collins, so I decided to buy the first one and was completely hooked before even getting to page 30.
This morning, I took the subway (and it was pretty packed), I sat down and started reading when the woman sitting across from me said pretty loudly "OMG, do you like the Hunger Games?! My eleven year old daughter just finished it and she said it was pretty violent......." I could feel that I was blushing as people were now staring at me. I smiled and told her that it was an excellent book! (That was a pretty embarrassing...)
Anyways, after work I ran back to the bookstore to buy the two other volumes called 'Catching Fire' and 'Mockingjay" (I just couldn't bare the idea that they might ran out before I was done with the first one...)

Apparently this trilogy has been doing very well for a while as the movie is coming out in 2012! Here under you can see the trailer (do not watch it if you want to create your own characters with your imagination...)

Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games. $5 or $32 for the trilogy

Are you as hooked as I am?!

My New Winter Wedges

I just wanted to share with you the shoes I bought this weekend because they are really comfortable and  they look great for the fall/winter season!

Aldo. Sandidge Wedges. Black Suede. $120

Tonight, I wore my shoes with some H&M black tights (look at the pic here above) and my Rag & Bone Confetti Dress.

Rag & Bone. Confetti Dress.

Rag & Bone. Confetti Dress

This last picture is just to show you why it's called a confetti dress:
It is full of colored dots all over the dress.
I would advise you to buy it at Barneys ($255) because it is way less expensive than on ASOS($337), how weird...?!
Anyways, have a great Wednesday! :-)

Restaurant of the Week 'Edi & the Wolf'

Last Saturday my boyfriend decided that we were going to have dinner at an Austrian restaurant. I was a little bit sceptical...and asked him three times 'Are you sure this is such a good idea?!' I was picturing an oktoberfest type of place (how cliché, right?!).
I was relieved the minute I entered the restaurant. It is super cozy (as you can see on the pictures) and the atmosphere is very convivial! We were helped right away (that's when I realized that we didn't have a reservation)...but we got very lucky! We ate at the bar and it was the best seat in the house as the bartender took such good care of us.
The dishes that I thought were the best out of what we've ordered:
-Landjager: a cured dried austrian sausage with mustard and pickles
-The Baby Back Ribs: honey, beers, mustard, and pickles (My Favorite!!!!)
-The Apple Strudel
-The Wine: some Riesling (I love wines that are pretty sweet so I would not recommend it to everybody...just to those of you who love sweet (alcoholic) juices ;-)

The Xtra details that makes this restaurant special and makes me want to go back tomorrow:
-impeccable service (everybody was just so nice and the staff was paying attention to all the important details)
-the bathrooms (you have to go wash your hands because they look amazing...)
-their playlists (I could have stayed all night just to listen to their music)

Edi & The Wolf Location: 102 Ave C (& 7th street)

I would advise you to go check the reviews about this restaurant on yelp (that's where the picture are from)  http://www.yelp.com/biz/edi-and-the-wolf-new-york
You can also look up their website  http://www.ediandthewolf.com/

Simply SeXy....

I walk in front of the store 'Kiki de Montparnasse' once in a while when I am in Soho but weirdly enough, this weekend was the first time I actually went inside. And it was WAOUW! The lingerie is ridiculously beautiful (and pricey). They have crazy sexy lingerie as well as comfy sweatpants and sweaters in cashmere (and they even manage to make those look cute and sexy).
If you wanna dress to impress your special someone, this is the place I would recommend.

Amour Kaftan. $495

Cateye Mask. $125

Nuit Lace Leggings. $495

Luxe Boyfriend Sweater. $495

Make Love T-Shirt. $65
I fell in love with this t shirt and bought it. The cotton is very soft and the cut is just perfect.
I always take a size bigger for the t shirts because I simply hate it when they are too tight.
(sorry for the quality of the pic, but I took it myself...)

They have a much better choice in their stores
(compared to what's on their website http://www.kikidm.com/shop/home.php).

Have a Good Night ;-)
